About Us
Esmeralda High Desert Institute is a new 501c3 nonprofit with a mission to build community through the arts and sciences to create an open and inspired Nevada. EDHI is based on the appreciation of our remote county shared by those who live and work here; artists and scientists who study here; and visitors drawn to the high desert country just for solace.
We consider dialog between the arts and sciences as vital to our rural communities. We offer lecture and workshop opportunities as well as residencies for emerging and seasoned artists and scientists with projects or interest in Esmeralda County. In summer, the Landscape Symposium features roundtable discussions and collaborations between artists and scientists.
