Explore~ Silver Peak is a small mining community that was founded in 1863 and now is the countries major supplier of Lithium. From Goldfield take Highway 95 N 4 miles to the Silver Peak turnoff and it 25 miles to town. Fish Lake Valley is a farming community with ranching and several business including a general store. It is located east about 65 miles from Goldfield on 266 located 15 miles south of Goldfield.
Alkali Hot Springs This hot springs was
once a popular resort, one can see this by the remnants of the empty
pool and trees in the surrounding area. The Two hot springs
are in a small oasis in the middle of dry central Nevada. Hot
water emerges from the side of a small hill in a desert area.
The hot water is trapped in two separate pools of varying
temperatures. A small concrete deck adjacent to the pools makes
getting in and out easier. |

The pools are big enough for three or four people,
and are about 3 feet deep. The water temperature varies depending
upon the time of year, but averages about 108 degrees F. in one, and
100 degrees F. in the other. The water is a little murky, but still
makes a pleasant bath. Primitive, except for the diversion of water
into the tub. Located 4 miles north of Goldfield on Highway 95 turn
left the Silver Peak turn off on a graded road , about 7 miles.
